Upon successful completion of this module you should be able to:

Identify and evaluate the care, empowerment and support needs of the older person, and how needs are met by current local and/or national services and provision.
Analyse current and emergent technological provision and innovation in meeting the care, empowerment and support needs of the older person.

Each student will have maximum 15 minutes to present the poster.

You can create the poster using Microsoft PowerPoint or Word.

An introduction
A critical evaluation of the care, empowerment and support needs of older people. For example,
maintaining functional ability, independence, freedom and choice.
A critical evaluation of the effectiveness and benefit of approaches and interventions, including
current provisions in the UK. Explore theory and policy in this area.
An explanation of the challenges encountered by older people in maintaining their independence
and functional ability.
Recommendations for improvement for services to empower older people.
A conclusion.
A references list.

Cited literature and references should be included to support your presentation. You

should include a minimum 15 sources at the end of the submitted poster. The poster

should be submitted on Turnitin on Moodle.

All written submissions must include a cover page or slide that clearly states your name, your student number, the module code and title, and your assignment title.
Written submissions should be typed in a legible size and format, appropriate for a poster presentation.
The UWTSD’s Harvard Referencing style should be applied for all references in your assignment.
